2017 SILENT AUCTION

Here is a sampling of the exciting items in our 2017 Silent Auction!

SANKATY HEAD CUFF LINKS:   Set the pace, be the snappiest dresser with your “one of a kind” Sankaty Head Ball Marker Cuff Links.  You will be the envy of all on or off the links

‘SCONSET WEYER PRINTS/POSTCARDS:  Take Uncle Billy home with you!  WEYER captures a part of ‘Sconset’s past and the characters that make our history come alive.

ANTHONY FREDERICK SARG, 1880-1942: Sarg’s illustrations have been in Saturday Evening Post, Parents’ Magazine, Boys Life, Good Housekeeping, and Vanity Fair and now in your home.  Take home a FIRST EDITION OF HIS illustrated Baby Book, a keepsake for your child or grandchild.

A summer resident of Nantucket, Sarg designed the mechanically-animated window displays for Macy’s Department Stores.  This was not Tony’s only connection to Macy’s (which started on Nantucket where Murray’s Toggery is now located); he orchestrated the first Thanksgiving Day Parade as well as the hot air balloons of fictional characters.

Enjoy this first edition of his  Surprise Book of beautifully illustrated fictional characters. This is a real keepsake for your Nantucket library.

SANKATY LIGHOUSE FEATURED: Be the proud owner of this 1947 Edition of Life Magazine with our own Sankaty Lighthouse featured on the cover paired with a Sports Illustrated cover.  These are great collector’s pieces to commemorate the move of the Lighthouse, Nantucket’s signature symbol.

SAILING AROUND NANTUCKET:  Well not exactly, but let this hand forged copper sailing ship remind you of the whaling ships that sailed off of our coast.  A great piece inside or out!

BUTTON-UP THE HATCHES:   ‘Sconset’s buttoner, Emma Ward has created this “one of a kind” pillow, with its unique landmarks that remind one of summer memories.

STOP!   Don’t let that door slam, use your needlepoint door brick to keep your doors open and the summer breezes in.

TONY SARG LIVES; Sarg’s designs and illustrations come alive on the paper goods and fabrics created to remember this incredibly talented artist.  His creative output was limitless and Phoebe MacKay has brought his talents back to life.
