The ’Sconset Trust currently owns over 131 acres of land in and around the village. Our two most significant properties, Sankaty Head Lighthouse and Ruddick Commons, welcome thousands of visitors annually who are drawn to the rich history and natural beauty of ’Sconset.

Additionally, the Trust owns and maintains the triangle of open land at the entrance to the village, as well as many smaller, significant properties that were donated or acquired to preserve open space around the village and to protect against overdevelopment.

Recent additions to Trust properties include acres of open beach grassland at the end of Low Beach Road, adjacent to Tom Nevers Pond, and 1.8 miles of newly installed walking trails at the Heller property between Morey Lane and Westerwick Drive. The ’Sconset Trust is responsible for the maintenance of all its properties in perpetuity, which would not be possible without the ongoing generous support of our members, donors, and the larger Nantucket community.
